Mr. Kumar Shaw is an avid adventurist who cycles all over the country telling stories of the area wherever he stops. On 6th March 2021, Mr. Kumar conducted a session for special educators of Satya Special School where he shared his experiences while traveling and explained about the intricate art of storytelling, with one practical session of shadow puppetry!
Twenty-six special educators participated in this session. He explained that storytelling does not depend upon a medium; one can tell stories using pictures, by using facial expressions and by using puppets. He explained how to make a storyboard and how to enact those characters. He also spoke about how stories can be a non-confrontational way to learn to value their place in the world.
Participants said they enjoyed the session very much, found the workshop very useful and would surely use techniques learned in this workshop in their classes while teaching.
