Students at the Colacara Arangasamy Naicker Govt. Middle School, Puducherry are eyeing the inclusive playground that is being set up with curiosity.

“What is this? A different kind of swing?” one child asks, and another shrugs.

The person working on installing the inclusive playground equipment tells the kids that the swing is modified to accommodate a wheelchair.

“A student with a wheelchair can swing?” the boy asks.

“You will see,” the man replies.

As finishing touches are put on the inclusive infrastructure and playground, children at the school will soon welcome children with special needs into their classrooms and playspaces.

With generous support from The Wipro Foundation and Cholamandalam Investments and Finance Company, Satya is geared up for its most ambitious project ever: integrating disabled children effectively and holistically into schools.

Apart from children with special needs, the inclusive schools project will provide therapy and educational assistance to children with learning difficulties, hearing impairment, and intellectual and developmental disabilities as well.
